This has won many awards, and rightly so in my opinion. A story of a group in the metropolis of New Crobuzon who unwittingly release alien predators on the city and how they resolve this. Many smaller goals along the way. Compelling plot keeps the pages turning. Good enough that I'm planning on buying the next book.
