A chronologically ordered history of Britain, with particular reference to the Time Team archaeological digs. With carefully placed snippets of historical explanation. Though I like the series I found reading the book from cover-to-cover rather repetitive since the same format is used for each dig - and some 50 of them are presented. A better book to dip into then, and with some excellent photographs.
