teggs-037 | September 2002. 14 miles, 700m climb. Blazing sunshine. Circuit from Teggs Nose through Macclesfield Forest to Shutlingsloe where I had the unusual experience of sitting on the top with absolutely no gale force wind. Climb via the Cat and Fiddle to Shining Tor and descend to Lamaload reservoir. Take concessionary short-cut back onto Gritstone Trail for the return and a welcome ice-cream. Top of Shutlingsloe.Disappointing views - there's haze all around. It's so bad that Shutlingsloe is pretty vague when viewed from Shining Tor. |
